About Us

The Springs Summit Club is one of those places that makes much more sense once you walk through the door.

At first glance, someone unfamiliar with it might assume it is simply a cigar lounge. That is part of the experience, certainly, but it is not the heart of the place. The better comparison is a private golf-course clubhouse without the golf! Comfortable, polished, relaxed, and built for people to spend time together.

What stands out most is the culture. This is a relationship-driven place. People know one another, conversations happen naturally, and the atmosphere is welcoming without feeling forced or overly formal. It works equally well for meeting someone, getting a little work done, reading quietly, or simply taking a break from the noise of the day.

Theodore Roosevelt once said that the first requirement of a good citizen is that he be willing to “pull his weight” rather than remain merely a passenger. That sentiment feels strangely at home here. Summit attracts people who are engaged in their businesses, their community, and the lives of the people around them—but who also understand the value of occasionally sitting down together, slowing the pace, and having an actual conversation.

The facility itself is beautiful, exceptionally clean, and clearly well cared for. The air-handling system also deserves specific mention. Anyone imagining a dark, stale, smoke-heavy room will be pleasantly surprised. The air quality is remarkably good, even when the club is active.

There is an old idea that the character of a place is revealed by the people who gather there. By that measure, the Summit Club is doing something very right. It has the feel of a modern American social club: good conversation, hospitality, civility, and the occasional attempt to solve the problems of the republic before heading home.

A genuinely distinctive Colorado Springs institution.
